HI, I'M ANSON KOCH-REIN

I am an Assistant Professor in the Division of Liberal Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. I came to Winston-Salem, NC after Visiting Assistant Professor positions in Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies at Grinnell College (2016-2019) and Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies at Middlebury College (2014-2016), where I also served as the Director of the Queer Studies House.

I received my PhD from Emory University's interdisciplinary Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts with a certificate in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I completed a Mediation Skills Training program at Northwestern University's School of Professional Studies in Summer 2016 and an online Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership from UMass Amherst in May 2018. In summer 2020, I obtained an online Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard's Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning. Most recently, I completed a Digital Photography Certificate online from Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning in Dec. 2022.

At UNCSA, I teach DLA Core and elective Literature and Humanities courses based on my
